Ellington in the Park sits above the Hudson River inside Riverside Park, at the corner of West 105th Street on the Upper West Side of Manhattan. It is one of the few full-service outdoor dining destinations in New York City with unobstructed waterfront views, and it has been a landmark of the neighbourhood's summers for years.

The space spans two levels. The upper bar is built from a repurposed shipping container and looks out directly over the water. The lower level opens onto the park itself, with beach volleyball, soccer, and softball fields just beyond — the kind of setting that turns a drink after work into an entire evening.

The kitchen is led by Chef John Loughran, who also heads our sister restaurant The Ellington on Broadway. The menu covers burgers, tacos, pizza, salads, and weekly specials, served alongside cocktails, wine, and draft beer.


Open April through November, Monday to Sunday, 11am to 10pm. No reservations needed for walk-in tables. For private events and large group bookings of 20 to 500 guests, reach out through the party reservations page.

To get in, take the stairs or ramp at 103rd Street and Riverside Drive. Ellington in the Park sits within the six miles of parkland cared for by the Riverside Park Conservancy, which manages the green space running from 59th to 181st Streets.

When the season ends in November, the story continues indoors. The Ellington on Broadway at 2745 Broadway brings the same neighbourhood spirit year-round — classic American comfort food, live music, DJ and jazz brunches, and a warm room that seats up to 130.
